We are looking for an experienced Bookeeper for our London office. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritising tasks in a challenging and commercial environment.

As a part of the finance department, the appointed person will carry out bookkeeping and accounting tasks on a daily basis.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Bookkeeping and preparing bank reconciliations and controls.
  • Processing of purchase invoices, supplier payments and remittances and liaising with suppliers.
  • Maintaining customers’ accounting records and reconciliations. Dealing with queries from suppliers and customers.
  • Preparing and posting journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and month end control reconciliations.
  • Preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists.
  • Intrastate reporting.
  • Preparing monthly management reports.
  • Assisting business development team with data analysis.


    Other Duties:

    • Office admin
    • Assisting with basic tax compliance matters
    • Attendance at other Parker Lane offices, as required


    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education to a minimum of A Level/GNVQ or equivalent
    • English and Maths GCSE’s grade A-C, or overseas equivalent.
    • Qualifications: AAT desirable
    • Fresher/1 year experience in a bookkeeping and/or accounting role
    • Knowledge of regulations governing exports and imports from/to the UK essential
    • Good working knowledge of VAT/Intrastat and EC Sales Lists
    • Knowledge of XERO accounting software is preferable
    • Good level of IT knowledge and skills
